KERALA RETIRED COLLEGE TEACHERS KOLLAM-KOTTARAKARA REGIONAL MEETING

Kollam- Kottarakara regional meeting of the Kerala Retired College Teachers Association was held on 15^th May at Kurakar Town Centre,Kottarakara at 10.30 am. The meeting commence with prayer. Prof. Achamma John ,president, Association of Retired Teacher, St. Gregorios Colege presided. Prof K.G Mathew, Prof. John Kurakar, Prof. T. J Johnson spoke on the occasion. The meeting discussed various problems related to College Teachers Pension arreares. The meetig also decided to participate on the 2^nd annual  conference on 25^th May,2013 at Thrissur. Chengannoor, Kallisery Mankoottathil Mariamma Varghese, Mother of Prof. Sabu Varghese( St. Gregorios College, Kottarakara) died on 10^th May,2013.She was 81 Her Husband M.V Varghese died six months ago.. She is survived  by a son Prof Sabu Varghese and two daughters Susan Thomas and Suja John. Fueral was at 1.30 pm on 12^th May,2013. at St. Thomas Orthodox Church, Umayattukara

Ammachis body placed at  her house for the near and dear to pay their last respects on 12thMay,2013. Hundreds from all sections of the society paid their last respects. Among those who paid their last respects to  Mariamma Varghse on 12hMay  include Prof. John Kurakar, Prof. Molly Kurakar, Mr. Sarasan Kottarakara, Prof. T.J Johnson,  Prof Jessiamma, Prof. Varghse Panicker,And other Political leaders. TRIBUTE PAID TOMARIAMMA MATHAI, MOTHER OF PROF. M CHACK, PUNNAVILA VEEDU, KUNDARA

Kundara Thrippilazhikom east punnavila veettil Mariamma Chacko (93), mother of Prof. M.Chacko, Rtd Professor of St. Gregorios College, Kottarakara died on 22^nd February,2013. She was 93 age. She was buried at Kundara Thrippilazhikom St. Thomas Orthodox Puthen Pally at 3 pm on 23^rd February. She is survived by her three sons Prof. M.Chacko, Mr. Thomas Kutty and P.M George Kutty and four daughters M. Kunjamma, M. Chinnamma, M. Sosamma and M. Daisy.

 Hundreds of people from the different walks of life paid them last respects. Among those who paid their last respects to Mariamma Chacko include include Prof. Achamma John, President, Association of Retired College Teachers, Prof. John Kurakar, Secretary of the Senior Teachers Association, Prof T. Kottarakara St .Gregorious College Retired Professor Rajan Mathew (Department of English) died on 17^th November, 2012. He was 76.The body will laid at his house and church on Tuesday 20^th November for the public to pay last respects.. Prof. Rajan Mathews will be remembered his dedicated service as teacher and Major of the N.C.C activities in St gregorious College, Kottarakara. His death is an irreparable loss to the St. Gregorios College and students community. Hundreds of people paid their last respect to the retired Professor Rajan Mathews. The Retired Teachers Association General secretary Prof John Kurakar,the executive committee members Prof  Achamma John ,Prof.T.J Johnson, Prof T. G Rajan, Prof M.K Joy kutty, Dr. Jacob John, Prof John Rajan, Prof Kunjukujuamma,Prof C. Annamma, Prof. Raichel Abraham, Dr. Thomas Panicker, Dr T.V Thomas, Prof J.V Panicker, Prof Molly Kurakar, Prof Varghese Panicker, Rev. Fr. D Jacob, Dr George Mathew, Prof G. Tharakan, Prof V.K Mathew, , Prof K. G Mathew, Prof Jessy George,, Prof George Thomas, paid floral tribute. He is survived by his sons Dr. Madhu(Canada)and Dr. Manoj (New-York)  His wife Prof. Rebeeca died few years ago. He was the active  officer of the National Cadets Corps and various organizations . He served as a member of Board of studies in Kerala University and Editorial Board member of the Text book and syllabus committee. The body was taken from his home at College road “Rebecca”... The funeral held at 3 pm  on 20^th November at St. Ignatius church, Kottappuram, KottarakaraHoundreads of college Professors and Former students gathered at his home and church to pay their respects.

Kottarakara Neelaswram Valiyavila Kizhakkethil  Mariamma Ammachi, wife of Late P.Yohannan, Rtd Sub Registrar died on 3^rd November,2012. She was 89. Ammachi’s body placed at his house for the near and dear to pay their last respects on 6^th November, 2012 . Hundreds from all sections of the society paid their last respects. The last journey from home began by 11.30 am on 6^th November. Special funeral prayer at her house was lead by church Vicar and other priests of the various churches. Among those who paid their last respects to Ammachi on 6^th November, include Prof. Achamma John, President, Association of Retired Teachers, Prof.John Kurakar, President, Kerala Kavya Kala Sahithi, Prof. Varghese John, Prof. Molly Kurakar, Prof. K.G Mathew, Prof. Thomas Lukose,and  political leaders and social workers. The funeral was at Kottapuram Orthodox church on 6^th November at 12.30 pm.

TRIBUTE PAID TO PROF. JACOB JOHN

Prof. Jacob John, Retired Professor (Department of English) of St. Gregorios College, Kottarakara, died on 28^th October, 2012 following heart attack. He was 62 year old. Jacob John is survived his wife Lissy Jacob   and two  daughters Jessy Jessy, Jacob,(Bahrain),Jini Jacob(Techno Park) and a son Jithin Jacob ( Mar Athanasius College,Kothamangalam)

Jacob John’s body placed at his house for the near and dear to pay their last respects .Hundreds from all sections of the society paid their last respects. The last journey from home began at 11 am on 30^th October, 2012. Special funeral prayers at his house were lead by Vicar and other priests of various churches. Among those who paid their last respects to Jacob John as Tuesday include Prof. Achamma John, Prof. John Kurakar, Secretary, Association of Retired Teachers, Prof. K.G Mathew, Prof. Nirmala Mathew, Prof. Varghese John, Dr. Jacob John ,Prof. Molly Kurakar, Prof. P.S George, Prof T.J Johnson and other political and social leaders. The funeral was at Kalayapuram Orthodox Valiyapally at 12 pm on 30^th October,2012.  The Teachers Association was arranged a condolence meeting at Kottarakara .Prof. Achamma John, President, ART presided over the meeting. ART, ST.GREGORIOS COLLEGE MEET-2012

ART, ST.GREGORIOS COLLEGE MEET-2012

   12^th annual meet of the Association of Retired Teachers of St. Gregorios College, Kottarakara was held on 21^st September, 2012 at 10.am am at Neha Hall, Kalayapuram. The function was began at 10 30 am with silent prayer. After the condolence meeting, Prof. John Kurakar welcomed the members. Prof. Achamma John, President, ART presided.Prof. Abraham Philip, Patron of the Association inaugurated the annual meet. Prof. P.A Mathew, Prof. Jacob Rajan and Prof. G.M Tharakan addressed on the inaugural session.

Second session was the Felicitation. The association felicitated Prof Abraham Philp for his valuable contribution to the entire teaching community. Now he is serving as state president of the All Kerala Retired Teachers Association. Prof.K.G Mathew delivered felicitation speech and presented Golden shall (Ponnada) The Meeting celebrated the birthday of Prof. Abraham Philip and Prof. K.O Johnson.

Third session- “Veettu Vishasham” was began 11 .30 am. Prof. K.J Cherian, Prof. T.Babu Kutty, Prof. T.G Rajan,, Prof. John Rajan, Prof. Kunjuoonjamma, Prof. Annamma 
George,, Prof. L.Koshy,, Mr. Eapen Cherian,, Dr. Purushothama Bhatt,, Prof. KO Johnson, Prof. K.G.Mathew, Prof. Leelamma Samuel, Prof.M.K Joykutty were actively participated on the programme. The Oath Ceremony was at 12.30 pm. Dr K.C Raju, Prof. Thampi David, Prof. Gracen George, Dr. T.V Thomas, Prof. J.V Panicker, and Dr. VenugopalaPillai were inducted as ART new members on the occasion. The new members spoke on the meeting. The last session was the business meeting. Prof. Abraham Philip and Prof. V.K Mathew gave important point of service and association matters. Dr. Jacob John expressed vote of thanks. The meeting was concluded with prayer and lunch.
